Nevermind that the original Phys/Spec split has some suspect choices, Dark and Ghost mostly, he goes on and on about how Eevee doesn't suit physical 'not cute' types when Dark is one of the most physically dominated types in the game, there's less Special Dark Type moves than there is Special FIGHTING Type moves.
And nevermind further still that we know from Spaceworld that Umbreon was designed as a Poison type which makes very apparent that this entire only special types thing is completely a coincidence.
It sounds all neat and reasonable when you package it up in a way that doesn't mention several things that arn't actually true about the neat little 'pattern'.
