LGPE is the WORST fucking pokemon game
>catch a low-level mon in mid journey
>No wild battles to free exp
>No trainers aviable to raise exp

okay you must be REALLY bad at the new catching mechanics then because I only had to buy a few at the start and then I was drowning in the stuff since every trainer and their dog gives you some when you fuck them up

Because Alola games had wild battles retard, if they wanna take wild battles at least they should replace it with something equal or better.

Also the Go catching relies on luck to the pokemon not get released and not fleeing from battle making you waste finite money with any kind of reward.

LGPE is a shit game with worse features than the normal main-line games

anon, catchrate has been a thing since red/blue and it's always been RNG, that's literally why there's always been several kinds of balls, you weakening the monster simply upped your chance of catching it, which you can do now by giving them berries to eat and throwing your ball correctly/with the right timing and using better balls

it's an obsolete and boring system that required you to do exactly the same thing every time, now each mons have their own weird pattern and the catchrate is finally important and you have to actually do something instead of just one faux swipe before clicking on the ball you want to throw

But wild 'mons running away in every single map of the game was never a thing. That's the only thing I wanted to point out.
I personally dislike the LGPE wild battle system, but it's entirely subjective. I just don't really like how it works in practice, compared to the old one.

Wild mons running away doesn't raise any stake nor does it add challenge at all.
As you said, it's entirely luck based.

Now that's something. The fact that wild pokémon can run away randomly on its own is definitely not challenging, but when you factor in other variables, then it can be.
