From Pikachu losing his shit and shocking everyone to calm them the fuck down, to Charizard and other fire type pokémon blasting their trainers in the face with their attacks and not melting flesh from bone, it's been shown time and again humans in the pokémon world AREN'T analogous to humans in ours. They're similar, but there's no chance any of us could survive even an Ember without being badly affected.
