Well, if you're only a Pokemon fan for the main series games, I don't blame you. This shit was mostly for casuals, super hardcore, and mobile players.

I think they do it just to show some transparency. They’re trying to be open with the public as they grow. I think it’s a kind gesture. Most companies just assume that you want nothing to to with their business models and so they just don’t let people see them.

Pretty sure it's a sequel with "a different ending to the movie"
Detective Pikachu didn't have a conclusive ending, just Mewtwo being mysterious and Tim still not finding his dad.

It's literally just a port of the 3DS version. They said to look forward to DP with a different ending because the game and movie have different endings
