>>38706759>or is there a free aspect to itLike gachapon, you put in money (the game's premium currency, which can be bought with money), turn the knob (I call it a "gate" regardless of the games I played), and see what comes out.
Differs from game to game, ranging from getting a small amount of the premium currency during regular play/logins, or a "free roll", which instead of slowly accumulating the premium currency instead gives you a chance at the dices. I say "free roll" because the odds in that kind of feature are usually no better than rolling the "normal dice" (you get regular shit you can usually get anywhere else in the game out of it 99.9% of the time).
The money-raking aspect comes from the limited-time offer the characters/items/whatever are put up for, usually between releases of new characters/items/limited-time editions that feature the "latest meta" - or worse carry an ability ranging from "somewhat needed" to "die without it" to clear the accompanying mission/event. Inter-game collaborations are another point, a very regular occurrence amongst those games, especially the big-name ones, and intervals between them can be as long as years, if they even re-run them.
