I think that the problem isn’t that these things are happening it’s that these gimmicks are seeming to take priority over the actually RPG game. It feels like the main series is secondary to all of these lifestyle apps, Pokemon Go and now second to Masters.

To me, it's not about the fact that Pokemon Go, Pokemon Sleep, Pokemon Masters, etc. exist, it's that the mainline games still feel half-baked and add features just to remove them and then they re-add them again, and repeat the cycle indefinitely.

I'm still curious.
If they release 100+ new mons and create an adventure style game again like Gen1 through 5 rather than a landfill exposition dump of a story through cutscenes every time you take a few steps, I'll be fine with it.
All I ask for is an adventure, where I can do my own research in game through books etc that add depth to the overall story. Make it simple, add depth through discovery, not landfills of exposition dumped on you throughout the game. It makes the game feel forced as fuck, and ruins the adventure aspect.
Imagine reading about a historical event and finding bits and pieces of said event while you explore, as apposed to being force fed all of the information on that event by random npcs, and having the sacred items or whatever handed to you by said npcs.

I think people want lore as much as they want a story. N had an okay combo in my opinion, he drove the plot while still being a mysterious entity you had to go out of your way to learn about. That being said, I'll always take a 100% lore GS-Red-type character over a 100% exposition Lillie, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that.
I just want it to be about talking to the characters again rather than constantly having the characters talk at the player. If I wanted to know what you have to say, I'd walk up and press A.

Hey guys, did you know that in terms of male human and female Pokémon breeding, Vaporeon is the most compatible Pokémon for humans? Not only are they in the field egg group, which is mostly comprised of mammals, Vaporeon are an average of 3"03' tall and 63.9 pounds. this means they're large enough to be able to handle human dicks, and with their impressive Base stats for HP and access to Acid Armor, you can be rough with one. Due to their mostly water based biology, there's no doubt in my mind that an aroused Vaporeon would be incredibly wet, so wet that you could easily have sex with one for hours without getting sore. They can also learn the moves Attract, Baby-Doll eyes, Captivate, Charm and Tail Whip along with not having fur to hide nipples, so it'd be incredibly easy for one to get you in the mood. With their abilities Water Absorb and Hydration, they can easily recover from fatigue with enough water. No other Pokémon comes close with this level of compatibility.
