Why is Pokemon the only series that seems to think the characters journey is over when he wins once?
Every other show lets the mc win over and over again and they still continue on afterwards because theres always more to do.

If Ash won one league you think he'd just immediately retire and stop battling for good?

On top of that, making Ash the champion of a certain region opens up more stories and battles. He could be the champion of one region and face different contenders, likely main characters from other games/regions, like Ethan or Brendan.

Anon, the anime's goal it to show off the new region and pokémon and encourage sale of merch by doing so. The franchise mascot is Pikachu. They're NOT going to get rid of the MC and his pikachu for ANOTHER newbie MC who needs a Pikachu as they NEED to keep the mascot visible (part of the whole "advertise the franchise" shtick the anime has going on) when they can just use the current one like they have done for the last 20-odd years. The ONLY ones getting upset at this are the neet manchildren who don't understand it's a vehicle to sell toys and tat first and foremost and the showrunners will do whatever they think is right to maximise that end (gif VERY much related).
