Anon, Gear team is to teach themselves how to develop in HD environments, so they can apply that to the Pokémon developmental process. I really don't think you understand EXACTLY how much money they get from Pokémon, but I guarantee you they're not stopping that money-printing machine any time in the next while (regardless of what extraneous shit the franchise operates sells, without Game Freak intorducint a new region and selection of pokémon every so often, the franchise would die). but if you want to believe they're actually stopping making Pokémon (when most, if not all the original Red/Green dev team, not to mention all the founders of Game Freak itself still work there), go ahead.

Am I the only one who's 100% OK with this? The SM engine was hindered by the tiny 3DS screen, easily demonstrated with the Citra upscale attempts. It'll look great on the Switch. Plus I was tired of the tropical island setting. It was too much for one game, unbearable for two back to back. So a new region with new Pokemon on a nice clear screen? Sign me up.

Ever since XY, the quality of the mainline games has gotten worse and worse. BW2 have good colors, tons of detail, game modes and other fun gimmicks.
Meanwhile, the 3DS games have low framerate, awful colors, robotic animations and facial expressions, and they lack features too.

The fact that it sells doesn't mean anything, because of course the Pokémon brand will always sell like pancakes thanks to the double dipping tards, the nostalfags and the zoomers who know no better.

Meanwhile in the older games, the barebones plot was actually a blessing. The only story was the one you created yourself with your partners through the trials and challenges you faced and overcame, making it much more personal and engaging.
