I could see them cutting regional variants because they're based on speciation from geographic isolation commonly seen in animals on secluded islands, so they should be unique to Alola/Hawaii just like they tried to cut customization by saying fashion was big in France so it should be "unique to Kalos."

Bullshit, habitat and climate factor in to that too. Course they shot themselves in the foot by not doing it in XY and having Kalos-forms there, so that means they likely won't be in Galar (unless they're Unovan pokémon or something).
