I'm trying to unlock additional characters but the game comes to a screeching halt as soon as the tutorial ends. They really want you to pay up!

I guess I could always make a new account on the app and hope for a better character, but then what's the point? What's the point of playing this game when you can't even play as the character you want without going through all this tedious bullshit?!
This is like if Nintendo decided to release The Legend of Zelda but every time you booted up the game, you had a one in fifty chance of playing as Link. Otherwise you're the shitty octorok. That's bullshit.
