Asking this in the designated nuzlocke general was too tough for you?
As for your question. Just play it straight. Standard rules only. USUM are tough enough nuzlockes as is, especially for a first-timer.

If it's your first one, I'd just stick with the standard rules.
If you feel it's too easy though you should do the no using items in battle rule. This is stuff like potions and whatnot.

These are the rules I play with
