Remember ORAS and X/Y? Remember how all those trainers who were represented as a chibi that weren't blessed with a 1:1 model like some trainers got the short end of the stick? This game is making up for it.
You know all those games you want remade or revisited but you don't want characters to be so redesigned it hurts? This game is alleviating that.
Sure, the gameplay is probably gonna be ass but all the fanservice shit is probably gonna be fucking awesome. Hell, even in the event that Sword/Shield gets delayed, having a Masters Festival arc as a stopgap like the Orange Islands, Kanto w/ May or Decolora arc probably won't be so bad given the shit handling of the PWT.
Piss on it for gacha. Piss on it for waifu pandering. Piss on it DeNA capitalizing on the "wrong" aspect of being a Pokémon fan but this is a game that had to be made.
