>>38734317Not counting the relatively obsolete use of gender as a "kind" or "sort," gender was originally more of a linguistic category separating nouns, pronouns, and whatnot. Then people started using it for "sex." If I remember correctly, there was a guy who coined that usage quite a while ago. My guess is it's because the word doesn't sound as naughty as sex, and there's a logical connection between the grammatical category and the sexes they're based off. Then the retards came in and confused it with gender expression and gender roles. Both of which are actually "expression" or "role" and only qualified by the word gender. Now they're angry whenever someone uses the original meanings of the words.
Needless to say, Pokémon is using it as the child-friendly version of sex and not making some psycho/political statement about the Pokémon's inner concept of its own masculinity or adherence to particular human traditions and mannerisms.
