There will never be competition that can rival Pokemon.
Fans are nostalgia driven and will always buy new Pokemon. Even Gen 5 sold pretty well, despite its terrible advertising.
And we will never have any power to stop it with legislation. It’s not like we have moralfags in mass quantities like anti-lootbox. No one in congress will take petty “Pokemon doesn’t have muh postgame anymore” seriously. And even with issues that MIGHT be taken seriously, like third version shit and $50 Mews, Nintendo and TPC would lobby the shit out of congress to make sure said laws don’t pass. And that’s just some problems solved to a giant list of problems.
The best we can do is move on to fangames/simulators, pirating, and buying other creature hunting games.
