He pitched the game (to I assume TPCi) saying that they should have a game where the focus is on all the characters instead of the Pokémon for once, with every character from the past returning.
Seems like he is the first person working at Pokémon to realize that they've built up a goldmine of characters over 20 years and done literally nothing with any of them.
Thankfully TPCi seem to be convinced, because it's getting made. And they're representing "EVERY CHARACTER" really well, because they've show pretty much everything.
>Original characters represented by the new Protags>NPC's from every Gen, represented by the different Ace Trainers>Gym Leaders represented by Misty and Brock>Champions represented by Steven, Lance, Diantha and Cynthia>Rivals, important bosses and Protagonists from every Gen represented by Red and RosaThey also seem to be following game-canon accurate designs and Pokémon parties, even using some external media for things like Rosa having a Serperior (like in the B2W2 trailer, and her action figure) - and Mega's and Z-Moves are both confirmed, with hints of new ones, which may be an indicator that new ones will be in Gen 8 too.
Oh and from the small bits of gameplay we got, the characters are actually going to interact with each other in what appears to be story segments and quests. Although it may just be very minor dialogue from when you just meet/battle/recruit the characters too, which would be less exciting, but its still more than what we'll get out of these characters in the games. (Which for most of them is nothing)
Very exciting time, the only real worry is that being on mobile it may be too cost heavy and lacking in gameplay. But honestly all signs are good thus far.
