The ORAS bridge sections between rooms were cool, but other than that Sidney's the only passable part of Hoenn's E4

Unova has objectively the best Elite Four by roster alone, and Alola isn't that far behind. but Kantofags and Hoennfags have huge nostalgia boners for those particular groups so they will pick theme.

unova and onwards has the shithead idea for the elite 4's order being up to the player. This is a terrible idea because it kills the level scale. Sinnoh knew what it was doing where each member got progressively harder.

The rooms got more and more uncreative, nowadays it's just a rectangle, there is no flair. I mean, just compare Bertha's Platinum room to ORAS' E4 rooms.

I dunno about that. Basic fidelity aside, RGBY was actually feels way better than FRLG or LG!PE. 3rd, 7th gen were by far the worst in all their iterations. Diamond and Pearl fit in there too, although Platinum was a step up.
