Major step back in terms of design quality from the two previous forms.

I can only speak for myself but I think Digimon generally has more soul than Pokemon ever has, this stupid little doodle that Kenji made is very comfy, and the Devs actually have a lot of talks of how much they like their games, but with Pokemon, they're designed to sell toys mainly, and almost every interview is an excuse or half-hearted, this was especially true with LGPE's buildup.

A lot of people are saying Armors or Fusions, honestly either works. All you'd have to do is slap on a rock to the Pokemon, say "It's powered by your strong bond!" and steamroll everything through it for this gen until it inevitable gets replaced with another gimmick
