It also has pretty bad starters for in-game purposes. Snivy gets no coverage and is outclassed utterly by Quiver Dance Liligant. Tepig is solid early due to the advantage against the Normal and Bug gyms, but Darmanitan is just as good of a fire type in the long run. And while Oshawott doesn't face as much water type competition, Water types aren't even very useful in Unova against most of the gyms and important trainers.
