Alola's problem was it's slow childlike pacing and some laziness from the devs. I think it could be a great comfy region if done right. Kalos is my least favorite. It was an uninspired unorganized nonsensical France. It should've had more European flare. The games were also p bad imo.
But all the REGIONS are salvageable. And every gen has good and bad mons.
Something that always bothered me about unova was the castles and ancient bridges. America does not have anything like that, we're relatively new. And that ancient desert with ruins in the middle of NYC? What was the deal with that? Obviously unova I'd fictional so it's not gonna be one to one but it always struck me as odd, albeit sort of imaginative.
