Her starter even lines up with the pre-release media, in which Nate is shown in the story-centric scenes with the Emboar, and Hugh with Samurott, and Rosa just cameos as a powerful trainer with a Serperior (similar to how she does in the games where you bump into her outside the Battle Subway).
Of course, could be wrong, maybe the game will come out and she'll reference being the Champion who saved Unove from Team Plasma, but I think it's much more likely that they're going with the former.
