Coverage really isn't that great with you needing to use HP ice to get boltbeam coverage meaning you have to go mixed on already mediocre stats or go special and skip the signature move.

Furthermore zera even have trouble in uu with its inability to really break through anything with like every physical tank in the tier beating it.

Mediocre stat, ok ability, good Signature move and a mediocre movepool.

It's just not that hard to wall, even & especially in UU: Mega Altaria, Amoonguss, Hippowdon, Mega Aggron, and more.
Against offense, it can have a better shot, but it's still too prediction reliant. It's not really punching holes & several scarfs can switch into it, or priority users to come pick it up, or pursuit users like Krookodile, despite Close Combat, because Zeraora is just that weak.

You are just making arbitrary rulings based on some random naming scheme that gamefreak decided that does not mean all too much.

If you think stuff like Melloetta and Regice are even comparable to Tyranitar idk what to say to you. Some legendaries even have lower BST like the Regis.

I wrote this all out so I am not gonna delete it, but now it is clear you are just trolling.

You know, in Gen 4 OU, there was more to why Electivire was such a shit pick than its underwhelming speed: It couldn't really break past anything. You may have set up your Vire, but it didn't really win you the game against any well built team: Offense always had a faster backbone, and Balance/Defensive team always carried something that Electivire's coverage couldn't get past, such as Hippowdon or Swampert or the Rotom Appliances, and more depending on the set Vire was running.
Zeraora is the Gen 7 version of Evire, except it isn't overly spammed by bad players.

Yes, but its stats just aren't up to actually using that coverage. Nothing you hit super effectively with coverage is ever gonna die from full. Kartana survives close combat, landorus survives HP ice, ferrothorn survives fire punch
I honestly think the best set might be dragonium Z Outrage because it gives it coverage that can actually one shot things like kommo-o and garchomp

Zeraora was such a missed opportunity, which is common in this franchise

Wouldn't a fast cacturne essentially be shiftry? Fast frail grass/dark mixed attackers with SD and NP. Granted cacturne has slightly higher offensive stats and water absorb to set up on that one water type without ice beam. Shiftry is also untiered, so would fast cacturne be NU? Maybe RU?

cacturne has better coverage than shiftry, hits much harder but just isnt fast enough. with 90 base speed it'd completely outclass shiftry (one of the best ZU mons), Cacturne would be banned from ZU and achieve A-rank status in PU. if it started with 90 speed from Gen 3, it'd have been UU Gen 3-4, RU Gen 5, RU/NU Gen 6, and now a great PU Pokemon
