You saying they don't look like pokemon at all kinda proves they did a good job at making them look alien. I like a couple of them, one of them being stakataka, though I agree their names are a bit weird. On a side note, Gen 3 is my favourite gen as well, don''t really know why but it's probaby because Sapphire was the first pokemon game I played for thouasnds of hours, I was at that age that I finally knew what I was doing.
