I stopped playing after gen four. Which gen five game should I play first? B/W or B/W2?

bw1 is pretty essential to get a lot of the cool shit going on in bw2

that and seeing how the region progresses and grows when you hit the sequel is rly nice, i wouldn't start with bw2 because u miss out on so much otherwise

Honestly, BW really recaptured a lot of the magic of Pokemon for me. The fact that there are no older gen Pokemon until the post game got me excited to explore and find something new to add to my team. If you know nothing about Pokemon past gen 4, Black or White is the perfect place to get back into it.

gen 5 was the lowest point in the series, 6 and 7 were each a bit better than their previous but it's not saying much

just wait for gen 8 and if it's trash (likely will be) then at least you can drop the series again without getting years of your life wasted like us

I find regular BW the vastly superior campaign, it is better paced and designed, less dead space between gyms and a far more interesting story
I think it's worth playing b2w2 only if you can do the memory link and catch a N's pokemon
I've heard b2w2 has a good endgame but I've never actually been able to sit through the entire, very slow paced campaign

B/W2 are better by far, sequels are always better than the originals in Pokemon games

at least it has that, the rival battles actually spice up an otherwise bland adventure
but in b2w2 you're lucky to even have a route... between elesa and clay there is a bridge to walk over and that's it
meanwhile, the same gap is filled with cold storage and plasma plot in bw

Yeah that's what I thought, but especially playing on challenge mode you don't have much else to do but grind between gyms, really weird design, the only other time I can think of pokemon doing this is gsc kanto
