What do you name yourself in Pokemon games? I've been naming all of my MCs Yarn for the last few years, before I would just name use my real name.

I name them and all "custom" characters in games with a 2-letter name that works with both sexes. When I was a kid I named them Andre which is my name.

I take the first letter of my name, and then pick a boy name based on it.

For example, if my name was Michael, I'd pick names like Mason, Matthew/Matt, Martin, etc.

Depends on the character. I come up with a new name for each character I use. Like, in XY I picked up the black male protagonist and named him Jamal and in SM I went with the tan one and called him Giancarlo

When I was a kid I just used my own name but now I just go with the character’s actual name since it feels weird to self-insert myself into a story. It’s like making Link anything but Link in the Zelda games.

I decided to start using the Greek Alphabet, starting with Alpha as the name of my main save files, and if I made another one of the same game then I use Beta, then Gamma and so on.
