There are barely any fire types in Gen 4 to get and Infernape was always the best one of the fire/fighting Starters unless you want to count Blazekiens buffing.

That’s said, i played Gen 4 with all the starters. Love all 3 dearly. Strongest trio.

In terms of first stages, yes, Fire Types have a veritable monopoly on best designs. But I've actually only now just realized that the only best final stage Fire starter comes from Gen II.
