Every gen had its dominant treat and lando isn't even OP. Just splashable, kinda like talonflame was. If I recall correctly the king of OU in G1 is Tauros.

The split made Gyrados a threat again and saved Sneasle. It also meant Gengar didn't need to split EVs into attack just to let it use STAB.
