We've had wild Steelix in Unova, I think in Platinum too. Tyranitar was rustling grass in Unova.

Steelix was the beginning of the end insofar as my autism for this kind of stuff. Since then we've had wild babies, wild stone evolutions, wild fully evolved pseudos

it's pretty lame unless it's done for fun (SOS Salamence)

Tyranitar is a rustling grass encounter in Unova, Milotic is a fishing encounter in Unova too.

I think fully evolved overworld pokemon should have their stats doubled and HP tripled.. so it feels more like a challenge in catching a high level pokemon.

I think it's because of the Switch paid online we're now getting ways to get trade evos straight away, but that's me being too hopeful, i know you could already catch Steelix and Milotic in previous games

Fully evolved Pokemon should be at extremely high levels or something so you can't walk about with your level 6 Scorbunny and catch a Tyranitar before the first gym. Give a challenge and a reason to return to areas and explore later on in the game.
