Why did GF fuck up with these types. Why on Earth is normal the secondary type / flying the primary type. That's not how those types function. Tornadus works because it's a fucking cloud. Noivern's a dragon that flies, not a cloud that dragons. And Normal isn't a secondary type. If something's normal, it's normal. If it's more Fire or Electric than normal, it's not normal. Bibarel makes sense because it's a normal beaver that also spits water.

I feel like they were going for sound = air therefore it has a stronger connection to air than the average Flying Pokemon which just flies. Though most sound moves are Normal and 0 are Flying so who knows.

Oricorio's Revelation Dance works by checking the user's primary type. If the user has lost their primary Fire type due to using Burn Out beforehand, Revelation Dance will instead check for its secondary type if it has one (Flying in Oricorio's case), the type added by Forest's Curse or Trick-or-Treat if it has any, or else be typeless.

Noibat and Noivern are Flying/Dragon to differentiate them from the existing Dragon/Flying species.

It's not that they're more quintessentially Flying, but that they're not as Dragon-like as the likes of Dragonite or Salamence.

For Corviknight, it's the same logic. A lot of Steel types are just Pokemon with vaguely metallic appendages, and those usually have Steel as a secondary.
