Using Protect and a 2Turn move, is it possible to just stall out the Dynamax transformation with a speedy pokemon? Like Dugtrio with Protect and Dig, or a quick Flying type with Protect and Fly?

Literally impossible, even if you hacked a Rayquaza to stay un its mega form and gave him a Z Crystal (which you can in SM/USUM) the Z crystal button is where the dynamax but is, you can't use both

I wonder if they'll add more Megas/Z-Moves to make this a tougher decision, otherwise it's a non-decision for a majority of the roster. Especially if you can have one of each on your team.

Depending on which Pokemon is Dynamax'd, is that a bad trade? A Dynamax'd Fug could sweep 2-3 pokemon, but if you can get away with just losing 1 that seems better.

Mega Evolutions are renamed Gigantomax Transformations, and Z-Moves are renamed Max Moves. Dynamaxing seems to be a combination of both, just marketed incredibly poorly.

I'm guessing protect won't shield you completely like with Z-moves, considering every maxd move basically turns into just that. Hell, maybe an undynamaxed mon won't even be able to shield the damage at all.
