That's true only if you grind something like Chansey. Of the 45 hours I played I spent about 27 catching shit and even with chains going over 200 many times I ended up only ended up getting Eevee to 100 and that's mostly from carrying it around in the ball for a few weeks and Rare Candies, not the shitty system.
It's garbage unless you grind a fair amount.
Which was clearly intended because otherwise there was no reason to put Chansey on every Route like it's Audino.
