how long until gamefreak introduces fusion evolutions? with each gen getting a shitty gimmick it's only a matter of time.

We're probably gonna see a fusion of the legendaries with the Third Legendary, but Fusion Gimmick maybe later down the line. My reasoning being too much effort. Megas introduced brand new Pokemon so to speak, with new stats and abilities, so Z-Moves watered it down to being special attacks, some unique, some just have the Pokemon stand there while the screen flashes, now our newest gimmick is just supersizing the Pokemon.

Designing a new model for every single Pokemon combination would be near-impossible. Even for a company that isn't dogshit.
If it does happen it will only be a few pre-approved pairings to fuse. Which means only a few Kanto mons allowed anyway, so who gives a shit?

There are over a 1000 fusions in DB fusions and that's on top of the models for the actual fusees. Gamefreak has the time and money to do the same if they limited it to fully evolved mons

The only way we would ever get fusions is for fully evolved mons that fuse with specific other mons, and rolled out in the same way we got megas. Like Machamp only being able to fuse with Conkeldur or maybe they go the route of clear pairings such as fusion of Pinsir and Heracross. Either way, I doubt it will extend beyond legendaries
