I mean...there's obviously some legendary catching, some story and the usual Maison/Tree/Subway clone but dont expect anything else. Not with mobile games like Masters coming out

To be fair though with Masters having probably all champions, gym leaders and whoever else 3d models then i dont see why Sword and Shield couldnt use those models to create a greater PWT (specially with all those stadium) but this is GF we're talking about...

Possibly because GF likes money and 3rd games are always easy money that extend the generation and give them time to work on a new game.

Only Kalos didnt get a 3rd game and only because of the 20th annivesary. They knew they needed a fresh start for such an occasion

I think that the top area beyond the mountains is the post game city with a battle frontier and that the city in the middle is the elite 4+champion area

One, try looking shit up before you post. There literally is an underground/underwater train between England and France. It's called the Channel Tunnel (Chunnel for short).

Two, Pokemon's world isn't 1:1 with our world. Kalos and Galar could be connected by land easily.
Would make more sense if they were too since most likely the country that Kalos was at war with back when AZ nuked everything could have been Galar.

That's not to say I think they're not trying at all this gen because there's already been more effort shown than usual, but they will never recreate an entire region just for the postgame again.
