Special split, Items, Steel Type, Choice Items, Double Battles, Abilities, Physical/Special split, Life Orb, Close Combat, Garchomp, Stealth Rock, Permanent Weather, Triple Battles, Sand Rush, Megas, Assault Vest, Toxic Spikes, Terrains, Z moves, Ultra Beasts, Dynamax, etc.

Z-Moves were shit, but not nearly as shit as Mega Evolutions. At least Z-Moves can be sorta cool and neat sometimes (Status Z-Moves specifically)

That would be just as terrible of an idea as Mega Evolution. What Game Freak should do is remove Megas and buff the Pokemon who are in need of a buff/rework. It isn't that difficult and you don't have to ruin the Pokemon's design and cause power creep

I agree with about... 75% of this. held Items were fine until they went full retardation with things like Choice items, Life Orb, Eviolite and Assault Vest. Weather is fine as long as it's set up and not automatic. Entry hazards started off fine but then we got stupid shit like Stealth Rocks.

Everything else is power creep and bloated mix maxed cancer.

Look I'm aware megas are touchy here on veepee but I love them to pieces and they helped make me fall in love with a lot of pokemon. A lot of my favorite pokemon were either terrible competitively or falling behind and while yes some megas did go to bullshitters like the psuedos and legendaries (though let's be realistic, it's not like you'll see the mega legends in common play unless you deliberately jump into that fire), a lot of mons that got them DID need them. This includes 5/6 of the starters who got them (and Blaziken also counts since most casual players won't have one with a HA), Sableye and Mawile went from being worthless junk to amazing, Lopunny become a very unique glass cannon that punts through ghosts, Beedrill is a terrifyingly powerful badass glass cannon, Audino becomes decent (I still love Audino), Kang went from bottom tier to being so strong she needed a nerf the next generation, Aggron lost his rock typing and all those weaknesses with it, Aereodactyl is the literal KING of UU and quite potent outside of it, and Pidgeot now has good speed, scouting, and no guard 110 BP STAB to abuse and crush the opposition with. Plus Altaria, Ampharos, and more!

Megas have done more good than bad, and while some went too far fucking GENGAR I feel on the whole it's a net gain, and some of them are wonderfully creative and awesome designs (like Ampharos getting back it's wool).

I'll admit I love using Mega Venusaur the most because he's my favorite since the day I first got my first game, and I absolutely LOVE how Venusaur's mega allows him to enter jack-of-all-trades territory to allow him to be tooled to whatever you need (personally use him as a bulky sweeper), and it's just amazing to see how far my boy has come.

I also enjoy Z-Moves, since they're like limit breaks and a cool last "hurrah" in battle.

I'm not looking forward to Dynamaxing, desu, but I'll see how it goes and hope for the best!

Look, dude, Kartana is good. It's not as inhumanely almighty as it's frequently memed to be but it is good. It's fast, racks of attack boosts quickly, has a movepool best described as "good enough" with Sacred Sword and Knock Off, and if running Swords Dance it's able to use it once and then nuke something with Breakneck Blitz off of Giga Impact. Combine that with it's amazing speed and the fact it will quickly snowball it's attack into higher and higher boosts and while he IS easy to KO in return, Kartana is a fucking monster when he gets going.

Nah. It's probably the most overrated mon in OU next to Tornadus-T (though Mimikyu takes the cake). Mainly because there are far better steel types to use and it's not that hard to shut it down (lol just use Zapdos).

If you allow Kartana to set up on your team then there's a serious problem with it. It should only kill 2 pokemon worse case scenario

Yes. Believe it or not I see it quite often. They use SD when they predict you'll switch in what you use to wall it then fire it off to net an OHKO on it's would-be counter. I think it's the main reason it's considered so strong, since with strong prediction it can just delete it's check/counter.

Crossgen evos weren't as bad as Mega Evos. At least with crossgens, most of the designs were ok and gave Pokemon such as Tangela and Dusclops the ability to equip Eviolite
All Mega designs were fucking shit. Overdesigned, ugly, fanservice pieces of dogshit appealing to kids with ADHD. Megas don't fix shitmons because they just give the shitmon a new form instead of making their base form any good. Also, you can only use one per team. Meaning you can't run a viable team with Charizard, Pinsir and Lopunny because only one of them can be Mega

I hope that the whole "gigantomaxing" thing is real, and is just a continuation of mega evolution. If you gave megas that 3 turn time limit, they would be more balanced. Basically, done right, they can incorporate z moves, megas, and dynamaxing into a single cohesive mechanic. They likely won't, but you never know.

The problem is, because they work for all pokemon, no one is going to use them on shit mon. It's just gonna be more pseudos or legends abusing this bullshit again. Thats why all these "buff everything at once" gimmicks GF makes to try to support all pokemon always fucking fail, because when you buff everything, sure the weaker stuff becomes strong enough to fight the stronger things, but those strong things can just use the same toys and become even stronger. It's just making things more obnoxious and bogging down battling further, and since all gyms will be using it it can't even be ignored in the main game.

Say what you want about megas but at least shit like Mega Beedrill and Mega Pidgeot are distinct with their own unique tools that aren't replicated by the other pseudo or legend megas. You can't say the same about dynamax bullshit.
