It IS going to be a little weird that the starters are going to be the same size Dynamaxed as their fully evolved forms Dynamaxed...
Imagine them fighting, King Kong versus a Giant Squirrel Monkey...
Somehow giant Raichu makes giant Gyarados look small...

I agree, the size of the Pokémon should have been increased in proportion to their original size. It makes size differences irrelevant.
Dynamaxed Raichu can just bite Dynamaxed Gyarados to death like a mongoose.
