While the Pokemon games quality downfall is definitely to blame on Google's Niantic, first GO while in the meanwhile they were also working on rushed XY and ORAS, then SM and USUM and more GO garbage under LGPE facade, now SS with the google style UI and totally not GO raids giant Pokemon, at least they haven't pushed their Google shit into Pokemon like their Youtube channel does.
GO was both a market success and a curse in terms of quality and casualization and shift to mobile gaming and microtransactions.
