In Let's Go they just threw them in to appease GOfags, not giving a damn how well it actually worked.
In Sword/Shield they will probably actually attempt to weave it in naturally since they're starting from square one.

Personally, I want to see overworld Pokémon that interact with each other instead of just derping around waiting for you to fight them. Pellipers scooping Magikarps out of the water, wild hitmons and sawks and such beating the tar out of each other, etc. Maybe if you walk in on a pokemon trying to eat another one, defeating the preadator will make the prey mon join you voluntarily.

People who actually hate the idea of the Pokemon franchise changing to feature overworld Pokemon are probably the same people who gripe and moan about the franchise not advancing enough.

Addictive gameplay is what keeps customers coming back. I don't think that free roaming Pokemon will make people shiny hunt more often then the REs did due to what I'm assuming made it addictive for people to spend countless autistic hours doing it in the first place.
It's better overall, but it kills the dynamic that made certain aspect of the gameplay addictive. If shiny hunting made them more money they wouldn't haven taken out REs.

The fact that they removed it means it doesn't, is that what you're saying?
Besides, that's one aspect of the game. The millions they made doesn't just come from one particular group. Kids - I assume the biggest demographic for the games - won't care about shiny hunting. They see new Pokemon, they throw a tantrum until the parents bought it.

Sorry I don't think I was being clear. I know it was bait, it's the low level I was complaining about.
