Did Sinnoh have any cutscenes besides the legendary Pokemon ones at the end of the main plot? I think its slowness comes from the fog and snow routes plus a lot of backtracking

People love to talk about how Blue "ambushes" you in the original game but in this game but jesus christ you have to battle Bianca as you leave Castelia you dont get healed, face Cheren who uses healing items, doesn't heal you both have 4 pokemon.

Then if you don't go back all the way through the city you have to face at LEAST 3 trainers and the sandstorm damage and then right after Team Plasma attacks before you can heal at a center in the next city.

This is kinda intense if you don't buy potions ahead of time and use them.

What really happens in Gen 5 is:

>rivals stop to talk to you about something you just saw
>they walk off
>then the professor stops to talk you about something you just saw
>then the professor walks off
>then some plasma member stops to talk to you about something you just saw
>then walks off
>move 10 steps
>then the champion or gym leader stops to talk to you about something you just saw
>they walk away
Gen 5, 6, and 7 fill the games with interludes that just repeat stuff the player already observed.

Gen 1, every time Gary showed up - cutscene, silph co before the Giovanni fight - cutscene, anything with Oaks aide - cutscene, lavender town - cutscenes. Gen 2, catching tutorial, silver, kurt, mystery egg, mahogany town TR base, dragons den quiz, need I go on? Gen 3, literally any time Team Magma/Aqua were on screen, devon corp shit, May/Brendan, when Kyogre/Groudon turns up in RS, when Rayquaza shows up in Emerald. Gen 4 was fucking packed with cutscenes too, the Veilstone galactic HQ and Spear pillar alone are fucking packed with them.
