Unless you assume a positive nature and high IVs, you get around base 90 special attack.

Ideally I'd love water/ghost and have his constant crying be because he can hear the souls of the drowned.
But realistically speaking he'll probably just be a "growth of courage" like character, with just water typing or some shit.

I really like the idea of a grass/dark Grookey evo but at the moment it seems the most likely of the starters to be the slow/bulky one, especially if this part of the leak is true, and the typing would basically be a death blow to it. I hope it does a 180 like Litten but actually gets faster.

If Grookey is Grass/Dark, then it's straight up fucked. The primary reason why the 4x bug weakness is an issue is because of fucking U-Turn.
I think there's a 50% chance it turns into Grass/Dark, the other remaining % I'd put money on Grass/Rock, which is a great typing and would be ideal as fuck.

Like his first stage he is able to make his opponents cry, but instead through a type of tear gas instead of actual tears.
Blend with surroundings just like a chameleon.
Uses tail as a rope and weapon.

High Sp.A and decent attack and speed but terrible defenses.

Signature move is a water type special attacking
mist move that also lowers accuracy and hits multiple opponents.

it's attack is close to the special attack, it gained +2 and special was +3, so it's minimum mixed. litten and torracat were mixed, incineroar went physical. there's been a number of pokemon who start with one stat and swap as they evolve (top of the head: slowpoke is atk/spatk 65/40, larvesta is 85/60, charjabug is like 80/50). they might do a switcheroo, they might not.

Nothing about scorbunny really seems fairy like electric makes a buttload of sense.
You can SAY you didnt see incineroar coming but litten was gloomy looking so dark type wasnt a huge leap.
Itll depend on scorbunnys midstage for me to see fairy as a possibility unless direct this week shocks us and midstages have subtypes again.

Nothing has been mixed since Gen2.
The stats you just pointed to are clearly a favored stat and varying degrees of passable.
You can make a special Laevesta work, but it will always be inferior to a physical one.
Because it's clearly a physically attacker.
Sobble is no different. Its attack is ok, but its special is clearly the favored mode.
Calling anything a mixed attacker when their stats aren't identical is a lie.

Shiftry and Cacturne both have mediocre stats and movepool, Shiftry is kinda ok in sun tho. and no Grass/Rock is garbage, it has 2 resists and unless it's a HyperOffensive pokemon having good resists is much more important since it allows switch-ins. Offensively grass/dark coverage is arguably better then grass/rock, the only other stab combination that would be good with grass is electric.
