Personally I'm not a fan, but I think it's like how rowlet is so popular. Simplistic design with subtle touches of flare. However, rowlet is an actual good design while wooloo is just too mundane to appeal to people who aren't autistic about cute and round things.

I hate overdesigned crap like Drednaw and Corviknight. The flower line is just a rehash of both Whimsicott and Roselia at the same time. Wooloo was the only interesting new design that wasn't the deviantart tier box legends.
The name is also very simple for English speakers.

Wool-oo is correct imo. The guy that said it has kind of a weird accent but it makes sense that you retain the "wool" in Wooloo.

Well it's all in perspective, let's treat it on a 1 to 10 scale with 5 being the perfect balance. I probably dont have to tell you that Mega Sharpedo is a 10, while garchomp is somewhere in between 5 and 10. Pokemon like scyther are 5s imo, and wooloo is a 2 imo. Croviknight is far from a 10 but barely not a 5, while drednaw would probably be a 7.
