The open-world area, while being the only one, still looks big enough for my interest. The graphics are *slightly* better and the very few snippets of the cities we’ve seen look unique to each other.
The gyms actually look like real Pokémon gyms and have an actual full crowd there, and will probably be where the meta takes place. That alone seems to give this game some extra “umph” and will make multiplayer battles feel more real and, most importantly, grand and with purpose (for someone who likes immersion like me).
Is this the first core pokemon game on console that everyone wanted? To some degree no. But on a relative scale this seems to be bigger and more enjoyable than all of the previous entrees in just about every way. Dynamaxing seems dumb though, but maybe it’ll be fun. We’ll see.
