Highly doubt these are getting third versions. I think with USUM GameFreak realized that formula doesn’t work anymore, especially with 3D titles. Sword and Shield look like one and done titles. Maybe a sequel that changes the world but I doubt it.

And I remember seeing a really old and forgotten "fake leak" that said that crown and scepter were fake BUT a third version would be scepter. This was before they revealed swsh, and he got the titles right with sword and shield too. There were lots of people saying sword and shield but this one felt right

Yeah so does every fucking Pokémon game. The main criticism for USUM was how there barely was any “ultra changes” and the games were almost the exact same as their predecessors. Just go on the nip side of the internet. They don’t even like USUM over on 2ch.

There won't be a third version, but there will be an updated release. Maybe Dyna Sword and Dyna Shield.

But if there is a third version, I hope it'd either be Scepter or Staff.
