This isnt a fault of the games, this was still when game freak was doing english releases like a year later.

And Desume and other emulators where easily avaliable, quick 2 second download for the rest of the world, when you look at that era of youtube everyone is playing these on an emulator.

These games are great and only took a hit financially due to bad timing and business practices.

XY and SM only barely outsold them. Gen 3 didn't fare much better either. It only sold poorly compared to gens 1 and 2.

Actually, sun and moon outsold them by a lot in the West. Black and White sold really well in Japan while the rest of the world ignored those shitty games

I was definitely part of the problem, had these shits on my R4 but in my defense I was 14 and had no income at the time.

But yeah I wouldn't be surprised if they skipped out on remaking the Gen 5 games and skip directly from Sinnoh to Kalos.

Animated sprites look really lively
Low HP Music is a banger
one of the better pokemon stories (They should have went further with it, but E rating)
gave me my favorite Legendary
Only games aside from RBY that had their own completely unique regional dex.

also Romhacking was at its peak. I never actually played the base BW or BW2 , but rather the drayano romhacks for them (Blaze Black/Volt White).

I did later on buy a physical copy of white for save-game transfers...but too little too late.

5. Gen Pokemon Games are the last of the good ones. After Pokemon changed to the 3DS GF only made shitty pokemon games. 5. Gen was very comfy because the battles were so fast paced I like it. I often have the Feeling that People hate on Gen 5 because of that 2 "Trash Pokemon"

it was a ballsy move to not include any of the previous pokemon in the campaign up until the end credits, and for what it's worth, it has the best story of the pokemon games. it also gave way to b2w2 which are probably the best games in the series objectively speaking.
