A lot of people keep saying that Gamefreak is incompetent when it comes to 3D visuals. But on the other hand here's Town, another Gamefreak game for the switch which looks a lot better than Sword and Shield visually

Why is there such a big difference?

This game is somehow more forgettable than daemon x machina and astral chain and the only reason it gets any attention is because people know it's taking away from the effort gamefreak COULD be putting into pokemon.

it doesn't, really. everything is just chibi proportions and altogether more cartoony. it doesn't look bad, it's just not good either.

that ui is a complete shitshow, though. it has to change even if that's alpha footage.

But, that being said, Game Freak knows they can't be lazy with this game if they want it to sell since it's a new IP and their other IPs haven't been selling well in the past. They actually have to prove themselves with this game instead of Pokémon that sells at least 5 mil copies by default.
