I tried watching the anime but it was mostly shit, so I just ended up skipping to the league episodes for decent battles, but they were shit too.
So far Ash vs Paul in the Sinnoh league has been the only one I felt invested in, any other decent battle episodes I should check out or is it all garbage?

X/Y in general is absolute kino. Fantastic animation and great strategies in general. Ash vs Clemont, Ash vs Olympia, Ash vs Shota in the semi-finals (be sure to watch sub for this specifically as the music is fantastic), and Ash vs Alain. These are standouts.

Lol. Not happening any time soon.
I seethe constantly at the mere thought of just how much narrative and animation kino is being thrown out the window for this flavourless Ash garbage. Pokemon has so much fucking potential for an animated story. And the same shit is shovelled out day in and day out. I am in a state of constant rage.

Idk if this would be considered hype. But Ash vs Guzma is a really awesome battle and at the 2:00 Minute mark it gets really good. The music, animation and just everything is sexy

I feel like the only real kino moment in the series is the original of pikachu saving ash from the spearow. It was cool af to me back then how he used lightning to power up his attack, and how fucked up he got for doing it.
