Pokémon games have been going downhill since Gen 4. That is a fact.
Looking back and realizing that the last game or the one before it wasn't so bad is exactly what you would expect to happen in such a circumstance.
Like if you were a ball rolling downhill picking up speed as you went realizing how much further you've fallen as time went on.
Also, people have always specifically disliked or like certain Zelda games as a majority. I didn't even play the series until the GBA Classic version and I still knew enough about them and the people who liked/disliked them to know this. There is no cycle, just a few morons thinking there is.
