The dynamax phenomenon.
Allowing Pokemon to grow massive but its weird isn't it. Those points are built into the ground and glow red/magenta. Look at the Ultra Wormholes. Blue, white and most manifested in open air.
Then we have the hillside image that depicts a pokemon in Dynamax, but the pokemon doesn't really click with any we've had before.
What if there's a dimension similar to the Distortion world, where the likely legendary pokemon, let's name it the same as the phenomenon, Dynamax, resides. In its dimension its naturally huge. In ours it would shrink. Like Giratina in a way. But these raid points allow energy to seep from that dimension into the playable verse, causing the phenomenon.
Basically, we had aliens with the UB so what if Dynamax is more akin to angels, demons, titans, etc. Spiritual, supernatural by contrast. And maybe Ultra Wormholes can connect to that dimension. Would explain why Totem Pokemon grow so large with exposure to energy from the wormhole.
