Instead of a Victory Road, we are getting a Pokémon League Tournament

In gyms we see that the crowd colors match that of the typing of the Gym and the logo is placed on the sides. We’ve also seen Leon’s stadium and the Wi-Fi stadium which are different to this one.

This is either a new battle facility or the replacement for Victory Road.

Why do people always ask for things like this? Victory Road is already a gauntlet of Trainers, just mixed in with an actual dungeon to explore. All you're asking is to remove the dungeon part and make it *less* interesting - without replacing that lost content with anything else. Any of the Trainers who'd be in a tournament could just as easily be in Victory Road (for one thing, traditionally, the rival always fought there - it's not a stretch to say whatever recurring characters you want can be put in), and you get the actual boss gauntlet you want right afterwards.
Honestly, I just don't think I understand - in what way is it better or more fun to have two consecutive boss gauntlets than an actual interesting dungeon AND a boss gauntlet? Just why would you actively want this?
