They've got style, but they lack substance. They cut out a lot of stuff from mainline Pokemon without filling in the gaps.

They were Pokemon games aimed at teens (particularly Colloseum) so they are certainly a bit more adult/mature/difficult than the other games. For instance IIRC Colloseum begins with the main character blowing up a building or something. Stealing Pokemon is a big theme too.

Colloseum was clearly meant as a companion piece to gen 3, not a replacement. Half the game is essentially Stadium 3. I don't know why they cut the tournaments out of XD.

How is colo lackluster? I spend like 60 hours to complete it.
You have plenty of tms from colosseums to get and purifying every pokemon to move ithem to RSE FRLG games
And in gald there is plenty to do if you complete the battle sims

Colo doesn't has Battle sims
All it has is the Mt.Battle

Took me like 20 hours to finish everything minus purifying because fuck purifying, it's slow and not fun, and this comes from a guy that always spends hundreds of hours autistically grinding pointless shit in games.
