Start doing this since Gen 6.

Makes the game way more fun since you aren't mentally "tied" to one Pokemon. Furthermore, it lets you appreciate your whole team as equals, instead of having that one special snowflake that was there since the beginning. Makes your party feel more like a team, if you ask me.

No, because that's horrible. I did, however, transfer my starter from my leaf green game once and didn't want to restart the save so I kept playing and it was actually pretty refreshing.
