It's shit because you need to pay a subscription service for it now. Oh and before you try to justify it, they don't use servers. You're needlessly paying extra money for peer 2 peer.

Yes, but this is what it takes if I want to play literally any Nintendo game online, which I do, especially Splatoon

There's a few exceptions, but still. Hopefully Pokemon is one of the free online games, but it's Nintendo so probably not
